How to grant a digital marketing agency access to your Google My Business profile.

When you start working with a digital marketing agency, such as ADVRT, to help optimise your Google My Business (GMB) profile, you will need to grant access to the profile so they can manage it on your behalf.

Getting an agency set up on your Google My Business is really easy. We're going to run you through the steps right now.


Add Owners or Managers:

Step 1:

Sign in to Google My Business


Step 2:

If you have multiple locations, choose ‘Manage Locations' and choose the location you would like to add a user to.


Step 3:

Click ‘Users' on the menu in the left panel, and you will be presented with a window like this:


 Step 4:

Click ‘Add Users' on the top right corner of the pop up window. 

 Step 5:

Type in the email address of the user that you are looking to invite to manage your GMB profile. When working with ADVRT this is the email address to use. 

Select the permissions that you would like to assign this user. For external companies we recommend assigning permissions no higher than ‘manager'.

Step 6:

Click Invite to send the invitation. Once the invitation has been sent, the agency will receive a notification that you are inviting them to manage this GMB profile and will be able to accept. You can cancel the invitation or revoke access at any point from the ‘Users' tab.
